By Ardeshir Mahdavi, Bob Martens, Raimar Scherer

In the final twenty years, the biannual ECPPM (European convention on Product and technique Modelling) convention sequence has supplied a different platform for the presentation and dialogue of the newest advances with reference to the ICT (Information and communique know-how) purposes within the AEC/FM (Architecture, Engineering, development and amenities administration) domains.

ECPPM 2014, the tenth ecu convention on Product and strategy Modelling, used to be hosted through the dept of establishing Physics and development Ecology of the Vienna collage of know-how, Austria (17-19 September 2014). This e-book involves a considerable variety of top of the range contributions that disguise a wide spectrum of issues relating ICT deployment circumstances in AEC/FM, including:
- BIM (Building details Modelling)
- ICT in Civil engineering & Infrastructure
- Human requisites & factors
- Computational selection support
- Commissioning, tracking & occupancy
- strength & management
- Ontology, information versions, and IFC (Industry origin Classes)
- power modelling
- Thermal functionality simulation
- Sustainable buildings
- Micro weather modelling
- version calibration
- venture & building management
- information & details management

As such, eWork and eBusiness in structure, Engineering and building 2014 represents a wealthy and entire source for teachers and execs operating within the interdisciplinary parts of data know-how purposes in structure, engineering, and construction.

1 Purpose of BCF In most of current real-life projects users of a BIM-tool for a downstream discipline usually are importing IFCfiles from upstream disciplines, which are containing the full model. When problems related to objects of the imported model become detected, there has to be a way to raise issues efficiently, so that they can be resolved in the sending BIM application (since the responsibility for maintaining and updating the model in most cases is assigned to the original author). Instead of adding issue-information directly into a building data model and sending the whole thing back in one bulky IFC-file, it is much more efficient to communicate back just the issues themselves.
