She also visits the rich neighborhoods of Houston and is pleased with their extravagance. Olga devotes a complete letter to Rice University and notes that it is coed. She states that women can study whatever they wisheven law, medicine, or engineering. The English language is interspersed throughout; "City Park" and "Main Street" are integrated into the letter. " She writes its Spanish translation in parentheses. As Olga begins her move inland toward the center of the state, she acquires more English and incorporates it into her letters to her aunt.
